In particular, we’re going to look at all of his cosmetics and rank his whole catalogue. So based on each skin’s overall appeal and price point, we want to see which skin stands on top. Because if you’re already going to dominate top lane, you might as well look good doing it.
12. Rune Wars Renekton
Released: April 30th, 2012 Price: 975 RP We’re going to start the list off with Rune Wars Renekton for a few reasons. Firstly, the whole theme of Renekton being a soldier wearing cool armor has been covered in a few skins already – so it doesn’t feel all that original. Secondly, this skin is just too expensive for what it brings to the table. Sure, you get some blood mist particles on your ult. But it just looks a bit random and doesn’t suit him all that well. The character model itself is pretty cool, with red crystals in your shoulder pads and runes on your back and your blade. But it just doesn’t justify the 975 RP price point.
11. Bloodfury Renekton
Released: July 26th, 2011 Price: 975 RP This skin falls into all of the same pitfalls as Rune Wars. It’s a bit more unique, as your skin is red, and you even get horns to really go for that demonic aesthetic. But it still feels like a cosmetic offering too little for what you’re paying. Bloodfury Renekton has the same red particles on your ult like the last one, although I will say it fits this design a lot better here. And the splash art is pretty badass, which is always nice. All of that being said, the skin is just a cooler version of Rune Wars, but still not cool or distinct enough to warrant a 975 RP price point.
10. Galactic Renekton
Released: January 18th, 2011 Price: 520 RP Exactly why this skin is called “Galactic”, I will never truly know. But it at least has a certain charm. The biggest draw to this skin is the fact that you’re albino, which is not something any other Renekton skin can say. And also that you get a pretty good character model for a very cheap price. In fact, even your particles get recolored to blue, making this skin feel a bit more distinct & making for a slight advantage if you’re playing Aram. All of that being said, Galactic Renekton is still slightly underwhelming. It has no central aesthetic other than just the color of Renekton’s skin, which sounds kinda… yeah.
9. Prehistoric Renekton
Released: June 14th, 2015 Price: 750 RP Does this one feel slightly redundant since crocodiles are already walking dinosaurs? Yes. But does it still look really cool? Also yes. Even though Prehistoric Renekton only changes your character model, it’s rather easy to see why a lot of Renekton players are drawn to it. It makes you look a lot more wild and dangerous, with horns sticking out of your head and fins going down your back and tail. The splash art could easily pass for a movie poster. And since the skin is in a similar vein to the base model, all of the animations and particles fit this skin rather well. Overall, it’s not drastically different from the base skin… but it does make you look a lot cooler, so it’s worth checking out.
8. Hextech Renekton
Released: December 20th, 2018 Price: 10 Gemstones Hextech Renekton does some things really well, and others rather poorly. First, the positives. Having a cybernetic arm is cool as all hell. Plus your blade has little jetpacks to indicate your W, your backing animation has you blast into space, the batteries on your back pop up when you ult, and there are some really nice electricity particle effects. On the negative side, this skin reminds me of a platypus. Not a great critique. Also your blade looks extremely clunky, and the price is way too high here – plus the robotic theme has already been done in a much cooler way. So if you can overlook those faults, I’m sure you will have a great time with this. But I just don’t think it’s quite worth what it’s asking.
7. SKT T1 Renekton
Released: August 17th, 2016 Price: 975 RP I just have to say that whoever saw the chance to make Renekton hold the SKT T1 logo as a weapon needs to be given a raise. Sure, it looks a lot less threatening than his usual blade. But it also represents peak creativity! In general, this skin just has strong Chad energy. From all the adoring fans there when you recall, to your team flare on your ult, and even the fact that you can scout people’s power level… this skin is rather distinct. I can’t put it all that high up though, as it doesn’t fit Renekton’s core champion fantasy. And it also isn’t funny enough to earn brownie points in the humor department. But I will always love some of the decisions that were made with this design.
6. Outback Renekton
Released: January 18th, 2011 Price: 520 RP Sometimes it’s the simplest ideas that make for the best skins. Someone at Riot basically pitched “Renekton, but Australian” and everybody just loved it. Sure, the skin only offers a character model change. But that’s the only thing we really needed to adore this beauty. You get a nice leather jacket, a leather fedora, a knife at your hip, and a boomerang blade. Renekton is set for life. Even the splash art here is just magnificent. What more is there to say? Outback Renekton is simple but brilliant.
5. Renektoy
Released: March 29th, 2017 Price: 750 RP Speaking of simple ideas that just work for some reason, we have Renektoy. Whenever a skin is named as a pun, my wallet slowly creaks open. So this one was a no-brainer. It doesn’t offer any new animations or particles. But with a character model this good and seven different chromas to choose from, it hardly even matters. The character model does look a bit silly. But it also has a surprising amount of detail, as you can clearly see how every moving piece is connected. Also, killing someone with this skin is immediately more hilarious because you look like a side character from Toy Story. A very simple and funny skin that’s worth the price if you like the aesthetic.
4. Scorched Earth Renekton
Released: February 10th, 2014 Price: 975 RP I never really thought of Renekton as a fire type Pokémon, but I can definitely see it now. This skin is all about fire. So be prepared for some hot particles for all of your basic abilities, passive, and ult. It might sound like a cop-out to just add fire everywhere. But it surprisingly works here, as nothing says “I’m going to kill you” quite like a crocodile that was set ablaze by his own anger. In terms of the character model, we get some steampunk action with the highlight being a furnace of sorts on your back, which ignites while you’re in your ult. Scorched Earth Renekton radiates some killer crock energy – and I am here for it.
3. Pool Party Renekton
Released: September 9th, 2013 Price: 975 RP If you want to ball on a budget and/or tilt your enemies off the face of the planet, this is the perfect skin for you. The character model has maxed out Chad energy as you beat people to death with a rescue board and blow into your whistle when you’re ready to drown people with your ult swirl. As you can see, irony is a big part of this skin. But the real reason people both love and hate this skin is of course the backing animation. It’s one of the most spammable things in the game. And you better believe it’ll make people tower dive you at level two. So if you don’t care about looking badass and you’d prefer to just have some fun, here ya go.
2. Blackfrost Renekton
Released: March 5th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP Blackfrost Renekton makes you feel like a mountain that woke up one day and chose violence. Your backing animation is like Godzilla meets that squirrel from Ice Age. Your particles all carry the weight of a blizzard. And your character model makes you look like a terrifying legend. I was even considering making this skin my number one pick, as it fits in so perfectly with Renekton’s original champion fantasy, while simultaneously making every part of the process way cooler. There’s honestly nothing bad I can say about this skin. It simply got feature-creeped out of its throne.
1. PROJECT: Renekton
Released: May 27th, 2021 Price: 1820 RP I was initially not a big fan of this skin. I just felt like the whole “robot theme” became a bit too frequent and generic. And the fact that Renekton becomes just some guy inside of a mech made me like it even less. But then I spent more than two minutes looking at it, and I now understand the hype. The ult alone is worth the legendary price tag. It makes you feel like you’re controlling a killer mech. You also get gauges for your fury and the remaining time on your ult, as well as a nice little kill counter to keep track of your massacre. Plus I learned that you can actually toggle the helmet on or off. So I can’t dock points for something that’s optional. I’ve barely scratched the surface of everything PROJECT: Renekton brings to the table. So if you’re a Renekton main with a hefty wallet, do yourself a favor and do some research on this one – as this is undoubtedly the best skin from Renekton’s lineup.
