At some point later this year, Google is expected to showcase two new smartphones: The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, successors to last year’s popular handsets. Leading up to that big day, the rumor mill has been letting slip a few pieces of information and, more important, images, of the upcoming smartphones. Earlier this month, for instance, we saw images of what was reportedly the Pixel 3 XL out in the wild, showcasing a pretty deep notch. And now, by way of MySmartPrice and @OnLeaks, we have clear renders of both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL to stare at. The renders are clear depictions of what we should probably expect to see later this year, including the deep notch and small chin on the Pixel 3 XL, and the noteworthy top and bottom bezels on the smaller Pixel 3. For the most part, the renders confirm what we’ve heard in the past, including the fact that the new handset will have all-glass designs (hopefully to facilitate wireless charging), and that the Pixel 3 XL will have a pair of front-facing cameras embedded in that deep notch to support a facial recognition feature. There is only one camera on the back of both handsets, so no dual camera setup with the Pixel 3 XL this year. However, there is one important key difference in these renders. According to the publication’s images, the Pixel 3 is also going to have a couple of front-facing cameras in its top bezel, which is not what we’ve heard in the past regarding the unofficial smartphone. That suggests Google plans on putting the biometric security measure in the smaller handset, too. If that is indeed the case, that will surely be good news for folks who don’t want to adopt the larger smartphone. The renders also confirm that there won’t be a 3.5mm headphone jack with either phone, and that the handsets will have a USB-C port on the bottom. So, based on these renders, what do you think of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL?
