The Red Dead Redemption sequel was announced back in October of 2016, with a target release window of Fall 2017. But after that, fans heard very little about RDR2, and Rockstar has stayed tight-lipped about the game’s progress until now.

This delay doesn’t come as a surprise to many fans, as Rockstar has a considerable track record for postponing its releases. The original Red Dead Redemption was slated for release in April of 2010 and got delayed by a month for a May launch. Grand Theft Auto IV was initially slated for a Fall 2007 release, but didn’t hit shelves until April of 2008. And even Grand Theft Auto V saw two separate delays after its original March 2013 launch window – first to May of that year, then to its final launch date in September.

Only time will tell if Red Dead Redemption 2 really will drop this spring, or if fans will have to wait even longer for Rockstar to polish this long-awaited sequel.
